Sheared Artisan Collection FAQ

At Sheared Artisan Collection, our expertise enables us to curate hand-spun products that offer you chic rarity, all while remaining committed to having a low-impact environmental footprint. We use the fleece of our alpaca, llama, and sheep that are locally bred and grown here in the United States.

Annually we shear our animals and after they are sheared, their luxurious wool is transformed into a variety of unique pieces. Shearing is an extremely humane practice that’s critical for the health and wellness of our animals. Shearing the fleece and repurposing it into each own exclusive thread means we meticulously tailor make our treasures with the utmost precision and care providing you with unmatched quality.

Additionally, 10% of all purchases made go to “Dawn’s Scholarship Fund”, a cause very near and dear to our hearts. The rest of the profits go directly to the well-being and care of the animals on our farm, as well as giving back to our local and Alpaca community.

Please note: no alpacas, llamas, or sheep are ever killed for their fleece/fiber/wool. Alpacas, llamas, and sheep can all live for 20 years.Shearing our animals is a necessity to keep our alpacas in good health, as they cannot handle heat. To prevent heat stress from a long unmanageable coat, we shear our alpacas and they will be sheared yearly as they continue to produce fleece/fiber/wool even when they are at the extreme end of life. : no alpacas, llamas, or sheep are ever killed for their fleece/fiber/wool.
